Ole Schemion (born September 12, 1992 in Berlin ) is a professional German poker player .

Schemion has earned more than 16 million US dollars with poker in live tournaments , making it one of the most successful German poker players . His greatest successes include winning the Main Event of the Partouche Poker Tour 2012 in Cannes and the Super High Roller of the European Poker Tour 2016 in Monte-Carlo as well as two titles at the Main Event of the World Poker Tour . From December 2014 to the end of April 2015, he was in first place in the poker world rankings for 18 weeks in a row, surpassing the previous record of 17 weeks in a row set by Jason Mercier and Dan Smith . Meanwhile, the record is held by Alex Foxen . Overall, Schemion led the world rankings for 41 weeks , only three players held the position longer.

Poker career

Career

Schemion plays on the online poker platform PokerStars under the nickname wizowizo . There he won the Main Event of the Winter Series in mid-January 2020 and secured a prize money of over 480,000 US dollars . Since 2011, Schemion has also been participating in renowned live tournaments .

Schemion won his first live tournament at the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Berlin in April 2011 and received a prize of more than 50,000 euros . In early September 2012 he won the main event of the Partouche Poker Tour in Cannes with a grand prize of more than one million euros. In November 2012, Schemion also won the Main Event of the Master Classics of Poker in Amsterdam for almost 300,000 euros. In mid-January 2013, he finished fourth at the EPT High Roller in the Bahamas , securing over $ 350,000 in prize money. In mid-December 2013, Schemion reached the final table at the EPT Main Event in Prague and received almost 220,000 euros for fifth place. In January 2014, Schemion was named Global Poker Index Player of the Year 2013 for having earned the most tournament points over the year. At the Aussie Millions Poker Championship in Melbourne in early 2015, Schemion secured more than one million US dollars in prize money by finishing second in the A $ 100,000 Challenge . At the beginning of June 2019 he won the Baccarat Crystal WPT Tournament of Champions at Aria Resort & Casino and secured a prize of around 440,000 US dollars.
