Belgium participated in the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris , France , with a delegation of 64 athletes (all men) in 31 competitions in ten sports. Officially ten medals (five times silver and five times bronze) could be won. In addition, two medals (silver) could be won in non-Olympic competitions. The youngest athlete was the water polo player Philippe Houben (19 years and 68 days), the oldest athlete was the rider Georges Nagelmackers (54 years and 343 days). It was the country's first Summer Olympics participation .
