Ragnar Tveiten (born November 27, 1938 in Veggli ) is a former Norwegian biathlete . He took part in three Winter Olympics.

Ragnar Tveiten started for Oslo Politis Idrettslag . He first took part in the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck in 1964 . At the only biathlon event held there , the 20 km individual, he ran the second-best run time behind the former multiple cross-country Olympic champion Veikko Hakulinen from Finland. With three missed shots, however, he got six penalty minutes added to the running time and thus missed a medal in fourth place. At the Biathlon World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 1966 , the Norwegian took eighth place in the individual, but won the gold medal in the relay competition with Jon Istad , Ivar Nordkild and Olav Jordet . In 1967 he won gold again in Altenberg with the relay in which Ola Wærhaug ran for Nordkild. In the individual he reached seventh place. Tveiten did less well at the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble , where he was 26th in the individual.

At the Biathlon World Championships in Zakopane in 1969 , Tveiten again achieved a good result with the relay, but after three Norwegian victories in a row, the Norwegian relay with the line-up Istad, Tveiten, Magnar Solberg and Esten Gjelten had to defeat the representation of the Soviet Union this time give. In the following year he could not win a medal in the individual, but started with Jan Lunde and Odd Lunde for the Numedal region at the championships held in Elverum for the first time in the relay race second. 1967 won the Numedals season with Kjell Hovda, Kåre Hovda and Ola Lunde the title in Lier , 1968 again silver. He also achieved success in 1970 and won gold with the Hovdas and Odd Lunde in Trondheim as well as the following year in Vingelen , with Ola instead of Odd Lunde. Behind Kjell Hovda, he also finished second in the individual in 1971. In 1972 Tveiten won the relay silver again in Evjemoen , in 1973 he was Norwegian champion in both individual and relay races in Steinkjer . Also in 1974 Tveiten won relay gold in Vingrom with Kjell Flesaker and the Hovda brothers, as well as 1975 in Mo i Rana with Sigleif Johansen for Kåre Hovda.
