Ralph Kenneth Purchase (born July 11, 1916 in Newport , Washington , United States , † January 11, 2000 in Sun City West , Arizona , United States) was an American rower and Olympic champion .

Life

Ralph Purchase rowed for the California Golden Bears . As a 32-year-old helmsman, he won the gold medal in rowing ( eighth ) with the US team at the 1948 Summer Olympics in Helsinki . Purchase was manager at later Zellerbach Corp . He died in 2000 at the age of 83.
