Medium wave

Until 1978 there was a medium wave transmitter in Lingen for the carrier frequency 702 kHz. After a 15-year break, a transmitter for the frequency 792 kHz went into operation again in 1993, which transmitted the following medium wave program until January 13, 2015:

Renewal of the top in 2013

On May 16, 2013, the top and the second element of the transmission mast were replaced. The exchange was carried out with the help of a Russian cargo helicopter , type Kamov KA-32 A12 , from a specialist company based in Switzerland. The reason for the replacement of the cylinders, which are located at a height of over 200 meters, was the fact that material fatigue due to the effects of the weather had progressed after 30 years of operation. The new elements are made of glass fiber reinforced plastic .
