Sergio y Estíbaliz

Sergio y Estíbaliz was a Basque singing duo , formed by Sergio Blanco Rivas (born November 17, 1948 in Bilbao , † February 15, 2015 in Madrid ) and Estíbaliz Uranga Amézaga (born December 9, 1952 in Bilbao), who in the 1970s and 1980s Was very popular in Spain for years.

The two met in 1968. They became members of the Mocedades group (Estíbaliz is one of the founding members). Three albums later, in 1972, the couple went into business for themselves. As Sergio y Estíbaliz they played an album almost every year until the early 1990s. You were commissioned by the TVE broadcaster to represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 1975 in Stockholm . With the hit Tú volverás they reached tenth place. The two married in the same year. The marriage resulted in two daughters, born in 1983 and 1988.

In 1976 the duo recorded an album dedicated to Latin American folk songs. 1979 appeared with Beans an album with mainly English-language titles. Several of the songs were in the disco style that was popular at the time .

In 1993 they joined the newly formed band El Consorcio , which was formed by former Mocedades members.
