Hof Siebensiefen is a district of the municipality of Lindlar in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Siebensiefen is located west of Lindlar in the valley of the Lindlarer Sülz between the neighboring towns of Waldbruch , Unterhürholz and Scheurenhof . The place is parallel to the state road 284 and can be reached by an access road to the L84.

history

In 1250, Siebensiefen was first mentioned in a document of pledge from a bailiwick . The document names "Siuensiphin" as the place of issue for the document.

Around 1600 there was a hammer mill belonging to Georgshausen Castle in Siebensiefen. In the Topographia Ducatus Montani from 1715, a "Hamer" is noted in the immediate vicinity of Siebesiefen . The map topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 shows a mill symbol inscribed with iron hammer. The mill symbol was last shown on topographic maps in 1969.

In 1830 the "Topographical-Statistical Description of the Royal Prussian Rhine Province" noted: "Siebensiefen, a house with 12 residents and 2 raw steel hammers" .

On the way from Siebensiefen to Unterhürholz there is a memorial cross from 1720.
