Location of Weyer in Lindlar

The village Weyer is a district of the municipality Lindlar in the Oberbergischer Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

Weyer is located east of Lindlar on Kreisstraße 21, between Lindlar and Frielingsdorf .

history

The name Weyer is derived from the geographical name "Weiher". The time of origin of this, as a feudal estate, originated in the early phase of the 11th century. The spelling in old documents varies, but mostly the place is called Wijer or wyer . The place name appears for the first time in documents in the 15th century, more precisely in 1413. An old Landwehr line from the early Middle Ages ran past Weyer. In the Middle Ages the place belonged to the Honschaft Dorf.

The municipal and Gutbezirksstatistik the Rhine Province leads Weyer 1871 with seven houses and 39 residents.
