Valerio Aspromonte
Valerio Aspromonte (born March 16, 1987 in Rome ) is an Italian foil fencer and Olympic champion .

In 2006, Valerio Aspromonte was junior world champion in Taebaek both in foil singles and with the team. In 2010 he became team European champion in Leipzig and won silver in the foil singles behind his teammate Andrea Baldini . At the World Championships in Paris , he won silver with the team. In 2011 Aspromonte won silver in the foil singles at the World Championships in Catania behind his teammate Andrea Cassarà . In the same year in Sheffield and 2012 in Legnano he was again European team champion.
At the Olympic Games in London , the Italian foil team won gold with him, in foil singles he lost to the eventual Olympic champion Lei Sheng and reached sixth place.
In 2013 he became team world champion in Budapest and won bronze in singles after a loss to eventual winner Miles Chamley-Watson . In 2014 he won silver with the team at the European Championships in Strasbourg and bronze at the World Championships in Kazan .
