The Venezuelan rugby union team represents Venezuela in the Rugby Union . The team is classified as a third category national team by the International Rugby Board (IRB).
history
It was not until 1998 that the Venezuelan Federation joined the International Rugby Board. The first international match was just lost against Trinidad and Tobago with 26:23.
Despite two participations in qualifying for the Rugby Union World Cup in 2003 and 2007, it has not yet been possible to qualify for the final tournament. The team failed in the first qualifying round to Brazil .
