David Sheff is an American author. He has written for The New York Times, Playboy, Wired, and Fortune. His books include Game Over, China Dawn, All We Are Saying: The Last Major Interview with John Lennon and Yoko Ono, and the best-selling memoir Beautiful Boy: A Father's Journey Through His Son's Addiction. Beautiful Boy describes how Sheff and his family dealt with his son Nic's methamphetamine addiction. His son has also written his own perspective on his years of addiction.[1]

Sheff has been an editor of New West and California magazines and was a founding editor of Men’s Life and Yahoo Internet Life.[2]

He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley.[2]
