AfD nomination of Anne McGinty
I have nominated Anne McGinty, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at }}}. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.<!-- Template:AFDWarning --> SingCal (talk) 00:21, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Re; Anne McGinty
Hi Will,

Rest assured that the idea of "fighting battles" over AfD was never my intention. At the time I nominated the article, I felt that it was poorly sourced, and the paltry amount of really substantive content (save for the apparently comprehensive list of works) didn't merit an article, especially given its failure at WP:MUSIC. This was after a fairly extensive search for reliable sources, as well.

That said, I have absolutely no problems with articles about band composers. Since the Anne McGinty AfD I've swung a little closer to the middle of the incl/del spectrum, and would be glad to work with you on improving these articles to meet the WP:MUSIC standards. Jim Curnow, Mark Williams, Jared Spears and their contemporaries have likely gained enough independent coverage to meet the notability standards, it's just got to be found. By all means, create the articles and feel free to ask me for assistance. ==The Hardy Boys copyright violation==
Hi. I'd almost rather leave this alone, but you were right that your material was copied into Wiki from: http://www.geocities.com/wroxford/casefiles.html. And you were right to object. Then, you had a true "gift economy" spirit in the discussion for The Hardy Boys agreeing to let it stay. So, all applause to you. Unfortunately, it's still yours and it's copyrighted and it appears in Wiki. (Or it did, until I deleted it, just now.) I don't quite remember enough of my Hardy Boys to rewrite the section myself, but something like that has to happen. If you were to be so kind to do it, you might save time by quoting yourself -- after all your Web site has been up for five years at this point, and might be considered a "reliable source". In any event, this is one of those areas Wiki wants to stay as "clean" as possible. I'm not just throwing this at you -- let me know if I can help.
