LaTraia Jones

LaTraia Jones was the 13th head college football coach for the Mississippi Valley State University Delta Devils located in Itta Bena, Mississippi and he held that position for three seasons, from 1999 until 2001. His coaching record at Mississippi Valley State was 5 wins, 28 losses, and 0 ties. As of the conclusion of the 2007 season, this ranks him eighth at Mississippi Valley State in total wins and 13th at Mississippi Valley State in winning percentage (0.152).[1]

During a game against Jackston State University on September 22, 2001, a fight broke out on the field between players of both schools. Coach Jones was reprimanded for the incident.[2] Jones finished the season at 0-11, a part of a fifteen game losing streak[3] and left the position after completing the season.

Jones is currently the Defensive Coordinator for the Alcorn State University Braves.[4]

Personal Life

Jones graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1970.[5]
