Swabi (Urdu: صوابی) is the capital of Swabi District in the North-West Frontier Province of Pakistan[1]. It is located at 34°7'0N 72°28'0E[2]. Its residents are referred to as 'Swabi waals'.

As well as being district capital, Swabi serves as tehsil headquarters of Swabi Tehsil which contains 39 Union Councils[1]. Moreover, the most famous Tarbela Dam is also in Swabi (near Topi town) and Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI), which is famous for its quality of education is also located in Swabi District (in Topi Town).
