FamilyUnnamed rich father, Mateo (brother), Unnamed sister, Unnamed mother.
RelativesUnnamed grandmother, Unnamed cousin.

Rico is sometimes the antagonist of the Disney Channel show "Hannah Montana". He runs the surf shop his father owns. Jackson works there. Rico is a very manipulative, arrogant, and evil child. Rico's parents are incredibly wealthy. He has a brother Mateo (played by Arias' real-life brother of the same name) with which he is suing, and being counter-sued by--perhaps stemming from being passed over to star in the Rico's Surf Shop commercial. He also has an unnamed sister and a female cousin, both of whom find Jackson attractive. He is shown to be extremely smart in school as he skipped a couple grades in school and ended up in Miley's class, in season 2 due to a photographic memory. He and Jackson share a frenemy relationship, where Rico is the meaner one. Jackson states that Rico's father is a billionaire. Rico likes Miley and often bribes her for a kiss. He loves to cackle in an exaggerated, malicious manner. In both parts of the episode "Achy Jakey Heart" Rico tries to steal the recipe for Jackson and Oliver's cheese jerkey, and is known to dress up as someone else to get into events for free. In "When You Wish You Were The Star", he is seen rapping with Oliver and Jesse McCartney. Currently, he is the only character to have kissed both Miley and Lily onscreen.

Controversy

Although it has been noted that the Rico character seems to satire on a "Hollywood movie executive in the making" some have criticized the writers for giving Rico exaggerated and negative stereotypical Jewish attributes, even thought Rico is clearly Hispanic.

Relationships

Although a little bit young, Rico has had several crushes and/or girlfriends.

  • Nina: a beautician that Rico hired to give Jackson a bad haircut in the episode "It's My Party and I'll Lie if I Want To". Rico liked her a little bit, even though she was about 4 or 5 years older than him.
  • Several Girls: In "Oh, Say Can You Remember The Words", Jackson has a dream that Rico was healthy, and he was not, and Rico was walking around with a group of girls.
  • Miley Stewart: Rico seems to like Miley, and in the episode "Me and Rico Down By the Schoolyard" he blackmails her to date him, and she once accidentally kissed him. In Season 3, Miley becomes his (Rico's) rival because she didn't like him back
  • Sarah: Sarah is Miley and Lilly's classmate, and Rico had a crush on her in "Song Sung Bad". He tried to make her like him by using Jackson, but Sarah ended up thinking Jackson liked her. In the end, he started dating another girl.
  • Hannah Montana: In the episode "We're All On This Date Together" Rico and Johnny Collins both win a date with Hannah (and they don't know she's really Miley).

Rosalita is a girl who is seen with Rico in Song Sung Bad.
