The last part of the line from Neslandsvatn to Kragerø was degraded to a [[branch line]] and given the name Kragerø Line. The line was closed for passenger traffic on 31 December 1988, though a few lumber trains were operated afterwards. The tracks between [[Sannidal Station]] and [[Kragerø Station]] have been removed and replaced by a new highway. The Kragerø Line (Norwegian: Kragerøbanen) was a 27 kilometer railway line between Neslandsvatn and Kragerø in Telemark, Norway.
History
The line was opened on 2 December 1927 as an extension of Sørland Line from Bø. In 1935 the Sørland Line was extended from Neslandsvatn to Arendal via Nelaug. The last part of the line from Neslandsvatn to Kragerø was degraded to a branch line and given the name Kragerø Line. The line was closed for passenger traffic on 31 December 1988, though a few lumber trains were operated afterwards. The tracks between Sannidal Station and Kragerø Station have been removed and replaced by a new highway. Kragerø Station has been transformed to a bus station and tourist information.
