Mista

Mista was an American R&B group in the mid-1990's from Atlanta, Georgia.

Biography

Formed and managed by “09 Lives,” Mista burst into the music scene in the 1996 with their hit "Blackberry Molasses." The group quickly drew comparisons to Boyz II Men and New Edition, releasing their Organized Noize produced self-titled debut album on July 30, 1996.[1] Despite the success of "Blackberry Molasses," the groups second single, "Lady" along with their album were unsuccessful. In 1997 the group began working on their sophomore album with producers Tim & Bob, and were featured on the soundtrack for Why Do Fools Fall in Love ("About You" featuring Lil' Mo). However, the group disbanded in 1998 due to apparent management issues, while Bobby Valentino credits their break-up to a combination of the group member’s ages and their not being totally united as a group.[2]
