Carlos Be

Carlos Be (born in Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona, Spain, 4 November 1974) is a playwright and director. He has received awards for plays such as Galimatías (Dramaturgic Creation Iberescena 2008), Origami (Born Theatre Award 2006), La extraordinaria muerte de Ulrike M. (finalist from Casa de América - Festival Escena Contemporánea Innovative Dramaturgy Theatre Award 2005) and Noel Road 25: a genius like us (Caja España Theatre Award 2001). He also writes novels, short stories, screenplays and poetry.

Biography

Carlos Be became a playwright at age 22, when in 1997 he decided to quit a medical degree program to devote himself to writing on a full-time basis.
