2004 United States presidential election in Iowa

Iowa narrowly voted for Al Gore in 2000, but in 2004, the incumbent George W. Bush won with a 0.67% lead. Iowa is traditionally a swing state—the Democrats had won Iowa in the last four elections, but narrowly in all of them.
