Gideon Brand van Zyl (December 31, 1873 - September 20, 1956), was the Governor-General of the Union of South Africa a British administrator in South Africa and governor-general of the Union of South Africa 1946-1950. Prior to this, he served as Deputy-Speaker of Parliament.
