The game features a unique battle system with special attacks and various jutsu that can be used. It also features tons of items, like kunai, shuriken, and explosive tags. There are many multi-layered stages from around the Naruto world, including the Hidden Mist Village, the Hidden Sand Village, the Chūnin exam arena, and the Forest of Death. In the original Japanese version there were only 12 characters however, NamcoBandai has added the ability to select both Cursed Seal Level 1 Sasuke and Kyubi Naruto transformations as starting characters in the American version. Although both of these characters were already in the Japanese version as transformations, NamcoBandai is using these two additions to claim they put in additional features in the American version; which could potentially boost domestic sales. As well, both Naruto and Sasuke have lost their ability to transform into their advanced modes during battle; the advanced transformations have become seperate characters. However eperience players can fight against these characters to challenge themselves and avoid gaining too much of an upper hand, also this is much like Naruto: Narutimate Hero 3 transformation system. The game also features an arcade style story mode. The Story Mode consists of 7 battles divided by some dialouge in a comic book style display. There is no RPG mode in this game.

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja, known in Japan as Naruto: Narutimate Hero (NARUTO-ナルト- ナルティメットヒーロー), is a fighting game for the PlayStation 2 that is based on the popular Naruto anime and manga series by Masashi Kishimoto.

This game was released in Japan on October 23, 2003 and is scheduled to be released in North America under the title of Naruto: Ultimate Ninja on June 26, 2006 [1].

Features

The game features a unique battle system with special attacks and various jutsu that can be used. It also features tons of items, like kunai, shuriken, and explosive tags. There are many multi-layered stages from around the Naruto world, including the Hidden Mist Village, the Hidden Sand Village, the Chūnin exam arena, and the Forest of Death. In the original Japanese version there were only 12 characters however, NamcoBandai has added the ability to select both Cursed Seal Level 1 Sasuke and Kyuubi Naruto transformations as starting characters in the American version.

Additional Information

The game is a mix of Super Smash Brothers Playing style(In the sense that you can pick up power-ups and jump onto platforms) and the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Series, like the Budokai games, this game has special moves also known as "Ougis". When you activate these moves, it goes to a cutscene/minigame type of play where you have to input the buttons on the screen faster than your opponent to minimize or maximize damage. Each character has 3 ougis. Ultimate Ninja also has tons of replay value. There are a lot more to unlock other than characters, including Music, Videos, Power-ups, and something for Naruto's House.

Playable characters

This is a list of all the playable characters in Naruto: Narutimate Hero.

Transformations

By completing a certain super, you can gain special effects (as indictated by an aura once back in normal combat) However, effects like the Curse Seal and Lee's Gates will drain the character's life and leave them without chakra after the effect has worn off. Meanwhile, the Sharingan gives Kakashi and Sasuke the ability to use the opponent's combos. NamcoBandai has added the ability to select both Cursed Seal Level 1 Sasuke and Nine Tails Chakra Naruto transformations as starting characters in the American version. Because of this, you can no longer transform into these advanced modes during normal combat in the American version.
