Masashi Kishimoto
Masashi Kishimoto ( Japanese 岸 本 斉 史 Kishimoto Masashi ; born November 8, 1974 in Nagi , Okayama Prefecture ) is a Japanese mangaka , best known for the manga series Naruto .
Life
In his childhood, Kishimoto was enthusiastic about Fujiko Fujio's manga Doraemon and later Akira Toriyama's comedy manga Dr. Slump . His first professional manga work was Karakuri , for which he won the 1996 Hop-Step Prize for amateur manga authors awarded by the manga magazine Shōnen Jump . He became known as the author of the ninja series Naruto , which was to be read in Japan from 1999 to 2014 in Shōnen Jump. Due to the great success of Naruto , Kishimoto was number 3 in 2004 on a list of the highest-earning Japanese manga artists. In 2017 it became known that Kishimoto was working on a new manga series. In 2019 Samurai8 ( サ ム ラ イ 8 八 丸 伝 , Samurai8 Hachimaruden ) finally started . It is designed and written by Kishimoto and illustrated by Akira Ōkubo.
His twin brother Seishi Kishimoto is also a Mangaka.
