George Couper Gibbs served as Florida Attorney General from 1938 until 1941.[1] He also served as a Duval County Circuit Court judge.[2]
Gibbs graduated with a Bachelor of Law degree from Washington and Lee University.
The George Couper Gibbs residence at 2717 Riverside Avenue in Jacksonville was designed by Mellen Clark Greeley. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Riverside Historic District.[3]
Gibbs gave a World War II era commencment address at the University of Florida in 1940.[4]
