Tyler Morris (born November 18, 2003) is an American football wide receiver for the Michigan Wolverines. In 2023, as a sophomore, Morris helped Michigan win a National Championship.[1][2]
Early years
Morris was born in Bolingbrook, Illinois, in 2003. He attended Nazareth Academy in La Grange Park, Illinois, where he was teammates with J. J. McCarthy. In May 2019, McCarthy said of Morris: "Tyler will be one of the best kids to come out of the Midwest. Thank God I have him as a shadow. It will be a fun couple of years."[3] McCarthy and Morris connected for 68 receptions, 1,237 yards, and 17 touchdowns in 2019.[4]
Morris tore an ACL in the spring of 2021 and missed his senior year in the fall of 2021.[5] He was rated as the No. 18 wide receiver and the No. 108 overall prospect in the 2022 college football recruiting class.[4]
College career
Morris enrolled at the University of Michigan in 2022. As a freshman, he saw limited playing time in eight games, tallying three receptions for 25 yards.[6]
In 2023, as a sophomore, Morris played wide receiver and also returned punts for Michigan’s national championship team. Morris appeared in all 15 games for the Wolverines, finishing the season with 13 receptions. None bigger than a 38 yard touchdown reception that helped secure a Rose Bowl victory against Alabama on Janauary 1, 2024. [7]
