Grant Newsome (* 1963 ) is an Australian singer ( high baritone ) and dancer who lives and works mainly in Germany.

Life

Newsome grew up in Australia . After abandoning his original career aspiration as an architect , he started taking singing and dancing lessons in Sydney in 1981 . In Hobart ( Tasmania ) his stage career began in a show program. After his first steps down under , he was hired for guest performances in Tokyo before Newsome appeared in the La Scala revue theater in Barcelona .

From Spain he made his way to Paris, where he performed as a soloist at the Lido in 1985 and at the Moulin Rouge in 1986 and 1987 . With the musical production Cats he was seen with interruptions for several years since 1989, including in Paris, in the Musical Theater Zurich and at the Operettenhaus Hamburg .

In Friedrichstadtpalast Berlin Grant Newsome has stood since 1994 in five revues as a soloist on the stage, including Classics , Joker , Revue Berlin , highlights and the Nachtrevue Paradiso . He has also toured vocal in musical galas ( Andrew Llyd Webber Gala , Gershwin Gala ). His repertoire consists not only of evergreens , but also of his own compositions. So he also produced a solo CD called Entertainment . He lives in Berlin .
