Chris Addison (born 1971, Manchester) is an English writer, stand up comedian, and actor, with a career that has spanned over a decade.

His BBC radio work includes the anthropological lecture series The Ape That Got Lucky with Dan Tetsell, and the political satire The Department with John Oliver and Andy Zaltzman. Addison has also been featured in the BBC television satire The Thick of It as the character of Oliver "Ollie" Reeder.

In 2006, Chris recorded the BBC radio series Chris Addison's Civilisation which is based on his Edinburgh show of 2004. The show also featured fellow comedians Dan Tetsell, Jo Enright, and Geoffrey McGivern and was aired in four parts over the summer of 2006. Enright and McGivern will also co-star in the new sitcom Lab Rats (written and starring Addison) which is currently being recorded for the BBC.

On May 8, 2006, he won the Sony UK Radio Awards (Best Radio Comedy Show) for his show The Ape That Got Lucky.

Addison recommends quietening noisy car journeys with a game of "Don't speak till you see a man in a fez."

Addison has a cynical attitude towards the popular encyclopedic website "Wikipedia" due to the fact that it is based on the subjective views of the "man on the street", the perspective of whom Addison apparently regards with some suspicion.
