The Thick of It is a British sitcom directed by Armando Iannucci that first aired on BBC Four on May 19, 2005 . For seasons 3 and 4, the series switched to BBC Two . It depicts the politics of the British government and opposition in a satirical exaggeration.

The series won the British Academy Television Award twice in the Best Situation Comedy category , and the actors Chris Langham (2006) and Peter Capaldi (2010) (both Best Comedy Performance - male ) and Rebecca Front (2010, Best Comedy Performance) - female ) excellent.
