SCHOOL RULES

This high school is very strict on its grooming and unifrom policy. In the student handbook it states that there is to be no gel used to spike the hair. However this rule is being abused by the 'ADMINISTRATORS' themselves by telling people they cannot have substance (gel) in their hair at all. Most students within the school believe that this rule is ridiculous.

-Blue ribbons only. This rule states that only the Mansfield State High School Blue ribbon can be worn to tie back the hair. (if it is longer than collar length) This means that no other hair ties may be used to tie back hair. This is regarded by many female students as ridiculous, stupid and unneccessary. The reason for the blue ribbon rule has been linked to "profiteering" by several students within the school

-No mobile phones. This rule states that if a student is found with a mobile phone in school they will be suspended for two days. Many students obviously dislike this rule as they claim that this rule does not help further educate them or help them in anyway, and that it only holds students back from utilising modern day technology.

-Friendship Rule: This rule states that any person is not encouraged to restrict their relationship at school to one boy or girl.

-UNNOFICIAL RULES: These are rules that are not mentioned in the diary or prospectus but that the administrators try to force on people.

  • Students may not hang out in malls after school
  • There is to be no gel in hair
  • Students must not move, walk or talk during the national anthem
