Saints Row 2 is an upcoming video game and a sequel to Saints Row and is scheduled to be released in 2008 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game will continue to be developed by Volition, and published by THQ.

CFO Edward K. Zinser revealed the game in a conference call on May 10, 2007. The game will ship simultaneously on both platforms next year. Although the game is still in development, expected changes from the original game include dual wielding and possibly the ability to play as a female character. [1]

The game will continue the story of the first game, with "a much darker and more sinister story that leads your character down a path of betrayal, revenge and redemption against the city that has left him for dead."[2] The reason for the ability to play as a woman is because of the explosion the main character lost his/her genitalia

The entire single player campaign will be playable in online co-operative mode. New vehicles include boats, motorcycles, helicopters, and planes. There will also be major minor changes to the city. this will include expansion at the west side of the city. The story continues from the end of Saints Row.
