FunOrb

Funorb is a casual gaming site produced by Jagex Ltd. Launched on February 27 2008, it is the company's first major release since their successful MMORPG, RuneScape. All of the games are programmed in Java.

Jagex has said that this site targeted towards the "hard casual"[1] or "time-pressured" gamer[2] market.

FunOrb offers both single and multiplayer games. Multiplayer games allow players to communicate through a public lobby chat and private friend chat. In most of these games, players may play "ranked" games, which finds a random opponent and adjusts their rank based on their performance. FunOrb also includes an 'accomplishments' system, giving awards for completing challenges in games, and 'OrbCoins', which currently do not have a use. The site has been launched in English and German, with more languages to be released during the year.

Jagex has stated that FunOrb will be updated every two weeks [3], either with a new game or an updated site feature.

Cost

Limited versions of all FunOrb games are available for free, with costs covered by advertising.

A subscription option is available at £2/$3/€2.50 a month by itself or £1.40/$2/€2 a month when combined with RuneScape membership[4]. This gives players access more levels/content in the games, the ability to post on the site forums, and the option to play games in fullscreen mode.
