2008 Big Ten men's basketball tournament
The 2008 Big Ten Conference Men's Basketball Tournament was played between March 13 and March 16, 2008 at the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. By winning the tournament, Wisconsin received the Big Ten's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. This year's contest marked the tenth anniversary of the tournament.[1] Games were televised on BTN, ESPN, ESPN2, and CBS, with the championship broadcast on CBS, March 16.
Seeds
All Big Ten schools played in the tournament. Teams were seeded by conference record, with a tiebreaker system used to seed teams with identical conference records. Each of the top 5 teams received a first round bye.

Tiebreakers
- Michigan over Illinois for the #9 seed: both teams had identical records in head-to-head games (1–1); vs. #1 seed, Wisconsin (0–2); and #2 seed, Purdue (0–2). Michigan wins tiebreaker by virtue of a better record against #3 seed Indiana (0–1) compared to Illinois (0–2).
