Eminem is back album

What about adding information about smaller eminem album releases like eminem is back, don't call me marshall, and anger management 3 mixtape? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.124.131.213 (talk) 02:16, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup

This article needs a lot of cleaning up. I am going to add a 'To-Do' list which will liost all of the tasks that need to be completed to sort this article out. --The-G-Unit-Boss 11:43, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

here here, sources is what we need, oh but dont put tags on , because if you put too many on your accused of vandalism and he pee on his child for disrescepting him ,ha what a joke. I think the best thing is to delete anything unsourced. It is after all wiki policy. Oh no no1 wants that do they? well maybe the tags weren`t such a bad idea after all. Realist2 15:27, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have added citations to thee success area, mostly around sales figures and that whole christina oral sex thing. This all needs clearing up, Realist2 18:44, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have been cleaning the article up loads. i.e all of the references etc, we just need people to find sources now. --The-G-Unit-Boss 19:30, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I will look into sources, I have read lots of stuff on him over the years and was a true fan, however ever since the whole michael jackson episode... I dont know, eminem really has let his black supports down, anyway getting back to the issue, yes Ill look into sources in time. lets get this article up to scratch, it would help if people didnt keep reverting tags. I think there should be a consensus to keep tags on rather than remove them because it looks messy , this article is at a terrible stage and im not sure if it would have been sorted if I hadnt interjected(I hope thats how you spell it). New Cover Picture

If possible, can someone remove the current picture and replace it with a less-blurry one? If someone could obtain the picture shown on Eminem's album, Eminem, that would be a good replacement. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Iluvmesodou (talkcontribs) 08:07, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We can't use copyright images such as album art to illustrate living people if a free equivalent is available or could be created that would serve the same encyclopedic purpose (see WP:NFCC). Acting

His debut was not 8 Mile. It was in Dr. Dre/Snoop Dogg's movie Da Hip Hop Witch.

Look at what you're saying: "debut" means that he first appeared, and, "cameo" means that he just had a small part but is known to the people/fans - this is usually done to promote the film - and "starred" means that he has lead role. BUT starred and debut will usually go TOGETHER especially if it is eagerly anticipated. Eminem FIRST appeared in a big budget movie but he did a cameo previously as an extra 78.144.16.30 18:59, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mysogynism

Under the "threats" to the President section, we made it clear that " "White America" also brought the U.S. Secret Service attention at first, but gave up after seeing a statement from Eminem after the song: "*laughs* I'm just playing America, you know I love you". " but in the Mysogynist second, we fail to cite the line from Kill You (Which is one of the songs cited for his alleged hate towards women), which states "[Eminem]Hahaha, I'm just playing ladies|You know I love you" . I think it'd be important to add this as neutralizer towards that particular part of the article, as it would balance out what that part explicitly states. The idea is NPoV, regardless of the image that his music may have made. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.12.11.239 (talk) 15:35, August 30, 2007 (UTC)

Biography has little info on his life

There is no information about his upbringing. Like being small for his age and having to defend himself through dissing lyrics. There is nothing written on his daughter Hailie or his ex-wife Kim. How he met Dr. Dre at a competition Eminem almost won. The Biography is just a chronology of his recordings.

He thought up Slim Shady while taking a dump (not sure "how"). He thought up Eminem from his initials (M&M). SlimShady6135 20:35, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He originally collaborated with Proof, trying to get the best 12 rappers in Detroit to form the Dirty Dozen (later, "D-12"). They couldn't find 12, but they got 6 and tried to get the "alternate personality" in order to fill out the 12. Proof said that he was going to be Dirty Harry, and then Eminem said that he was going to use the moniker "Billy the Kid." It was only later that, whilst taking a dump, it "just came to him" - - his nickname would be "Slim Shady." (For reference purposes, this was all said during an interview with Cipha Sounds on the first show of "Behind the Boards" on Sirius radio. This picture is the first one we had going, and it really gives a shockingly bad view of Eminem. I can hardly see his face in that one. Does NO ONE have a better picture at all, that can be used under wikipedia's standards?

suggesed changes

In the section titled 'First releases', 'Insane Clown Posse' should read 'Insane Clown Posse(ICP).' so that people realise that the further references to ICP means this same band.

In the section titled 'Other projects and D12, in the paragraph begining on April 11, the word lawfully is repeated twice in the third sentence. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.99.83.5 (talk) 11:20, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rapcore?

Should eminem have Rapcore in his genre list? cause he has combined Rap with rock such as:Sing for the moment,Marshal mathers, etc. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Belchey (talkcontribs) 23:52, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I want to initially say no, because in both mentioned songs Eminem did 0% of the rock parts. "Marshall Mathers" did not feature any rock tracks though, however Crazy in Love did. Both songs also share in common though that the band did not actively record the song with him, and he used pre-recorded samples to mix and match. I vote no for putting him in this catagory, at least for now. TheJudge310 (talk) 00:20, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy section

Per Wikipedia:Criticism, I believe that some of the info in the "Controversy" section that's in the article in this moment be integrated throughout the "Biography" section, as controversies of Eminem tend to go chronologically. For example, the controversies over homophobic/misogynistic/anti-Bush/anti-Michael Jackson lyrics could go within the "1999-2004" section, and the 100 People Who Are Screwing Up America could go in the "2005-present" section. However, I'm at fences over the "criticism from other artists" section: because the first paragraph isn't sourced, and the second one mentioning Chuck D of Public Enemy and Weird Al tend to go within 2002-2003, so I'm not sure of whether this article would be good with a short section devoted only to "criticism from other artists", or this stuff being integrated within Eminem's main biography.

I'd like to reach a consensus among editors before further action is taken. Thank you. --Andrewlp1991 (talk) 00:04, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That sounds like a reasonable idea to me. The controversies can be attributed to specific dates, so no reason to filter them off to a separate section. -Verdatum (talk) 15:51, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much. I will begin re-organizing the article as soon as I can. Other editors may help too. --Andrewlp1991 (talk) 23:46, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reformed?

Now, again the controversy section has been reformed, although i've tried integrating the controversies throughout the article. Per Wikipedia:Criticism, which cites article structure under NPOV policy as discouraging pushing "controversial" aspects into one section. In my humble opinion, I think a "controversy" section pushes way too much attention toward Em's controversies, which should really be viewed within his main chronological bio. Wikipedia biographies of living persons should take the reader's main attention toward the person's life, not just controversies. --Andrewlp1991 (talk) 06:47, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know how much my comment helps, but I continue to agree. Unfortunately, especially with a topic such as this, that will receive frequent edits from novice editors, it's just something that must be monitored and fixed as nonconstructive edits are made. Hopefully though, anyone disagreeing will present their argument here before editing as recommended by guideline. -Verdatum (talk) 15:43, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Eminems Mother & Family

Is there a section that descrines marshalls mother? or a separate article? I can't find either. Also he seems to hate his mother as I recall he says in one of his songs:

C'mon Debs cum on your tits, fuck that cum on your tits cum on your lips...

— Eminem - Album: The Eminem Show Song: Without me

Sorry for being so graphic but I believe Debs refers to his mother? I mean he insults her which might suggest family conflict? I'm not so sure...But should we have a section dedicated to his mother or his ex-wife for that matter? LOTRrules (talk) 21:52, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is already a short section about his mother and ex-wife here. By the way...

...and get ready, 'cause this is about to get heavy. I just settled all my lawsuits, (F*** you Debbie!)

122.53.102.230 (talk) 03:06, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You must be extremely careful when making conclusions from such references. You can't use his lyrics to determine if he's being serious, or if his opinion continues to hold; he's allowed to change his mind after all. All these cautionary issues are covered in Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons. Oh also, Wikipedia is not censored. So long as it's appropriate, and quoting lyrics certainly is, you don't need to use asterisks or apologize or anything. -Verdatum (talk) 15:51, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

yes, i think the personal life section needs cleaning up. where it says he hates his mother debbie is only speculation, as in some of his lyrics he mentions that he's sorry, and that he does love her. iy's hard to tell weathjer he's joking or being serious in most of his lyrics. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 168.224.1.14 (talk) 14:23, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

EMINEM Wrestling

Now I am not trying to start a dead rumor. But has EMINEM ever wrestling before. On his song It's Okay Album Infinite he says "Trying to wrestle, I almost bust a blood vessel" leading me to believe he tried out to become a wrestler. I was just wondering if EMINEM ever talked about it on an Interview or some sort of reliable source explaining that lyric. 141.155.31.76 (talk) 00:38, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
