Litchfield Park is a city in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States. According to 2006 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the town is 5,514.[2]

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.1 square miles (8.1 km²), all of it land.

Government

The Mayor is Tom Schoaf.

The Vice Mayor is Paul Faith.

City Council members are: Peter Mahoney, Paul Stucky, Tim Blake, Marcia Ellis and John Romack

Demographics

As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there were 3,810 people, 1,508 households, and 1,165 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,216.6 people per square mile (470.0/km²). There were 1,633 housing units at an average density of 521.5/sq mi (201.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 92.07% White, 1.39% Black or African American, 0.39% Native American, 2.89% Asian, 0.21% Pacific Islander, 1.50% from other races, and 1.55% from two or more races. 5.49% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There were 1,508 households out of which 28.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.8% were married couples living together, 7.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.7% were non-families. 19.6% of all households were made up of single individuals and 10.9% were an individual at the age of 65 years or older living alone. The average household size was 2.51 and the average family size was 2.86.

In the city the population was spread out with 23.6% under the age of 18, 4.6% from 18 to 24, 22.2% from 25 to 44, 27.8% from 45 to 64, and 21.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 45 years. For every 100 females there were 91.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.5 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $71,875, and the median income for a family was $84,691. Males had a median income of $58,942 versus $35,046 for females. The per capita income for the city was $37,793. About 2.7% of families and 4.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 5.5% of those under age 18 and 1.8% of those age 65 or over.
