The first Baronet Herschel in 1846.

The Herschel Baronetcy, of Slough in the County of Buckinghamshire, was created in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom on 17 July 1838 for John Frederick William Herschel,[1] son of the famous astronomer Sir William Herschel, and a well-known astronomer in his own right. On the death of the third baronet, 15 June 1950, the baronetcy became extinct.
