Joseph Mermans, usually referred to as Jef Mermans, nicknamed The Bomber, was a Belgian football striker who played a.o. for Tubantia Borgerhout and R.S.C. Anderlecht. He also played with the Belgium national football team in the 1954 World Cup. Mermans finished top scorer of the Jupiler League in 1947, 1948 and 1950.
