Beethoven Virus (Korean: 베토벤 바이러스) ) is an ongoing MBC’s TV drama in Korea. It is being screened Wednesday and Thursday nights on MBC.
This show drew attention for being the first drama to depict the lives of classical musicians and orchestra in Korea.

With high expectations, the press conference prior to the regular televising surprised fans with a concert complete with a full orchestra.Kim Myung-min, who plays the talented yet difficult maestro Kang, actually conducted Ennio Morricone's Gabriel's Oboe and Brahms' Hungarian Dances with the orchestra in front of reporters and fans who came to the venue. Famed pianist Lim Dong-hyek also offered his tunes. Lim made a special appearance as himself in the drama. There were made another cameo appearance by Richard Yongjae O`Neil, a popular violist. Main Characters

Kang Gun-woo / Kang Ma-Eh

Portrayed by Kim Myung-min, Kang Gun-woo is an orchestra conductor who's forty years old. He is very talented and famous for his excellent skills in music. However, he is notorious for his aggressiveness and sharp tongue. This made his nickname ‘orchestra killer’. The reason that he’s spending most of his time overseas.
In a word, he is an elitist. Classical music is born for the nobility. Times may change, but this nature of classical music stays the same. To play the noble classic, the talent of players should be brilliant.

Du Ru-mi

Portrayed by Lee Ji-ah, Du Ru-mi is the first violinist of the project orchestra. With all delicate appearance looking like Grace Kelly, she is actually hot-tempered, up-and-down, and optimistic about everything.
Her dizziness and tinnitus was the symptom of Ménière's disease, which will reach to losing her hearing. Now, she has the only resolute goal to go on the stage.

Kang Gun-woo

Portrayed by Jang Geun-suk, Kang Gun-woo is a traffic police with a strong sense of justice. He has squashed the fighting cars for a pregnant woman, which made him suspended from his position.
Even though he can’t read music, he’s got a natural talent in playing trumpet and music it self. The project orchestra that he joins through Ru-mi’s recommendation gives him an opportunity to open his eyes and ears to music and conducting.
