Hakushaku to Yōsei (伯爵と妖精, "Earl and Fairy") is a series of light novels written by Mizue Tani and published in Japan by Shueisha. The story is serialised in Cobalt magazine and illustrated by Asako Takaboshi.

Shueisha have also released two drama CDs, and a manga version has begun serialisation in The Margaret.[1] An anime adaptation began broadcasting in September 2008.

Plot

Story

The story is set in Victorian England. It follows the adventures of 17-year old Lydia Carlton, who is nicknamed "the Fairy Doctor" due to her interest in fairies. She meets Edgar J. C. Ashenbert, the "Earl(Count) of Blue Knights," on a sea voyage to London and joins him in his quest for a legendary ancestral sword.

An anime adaptation of the light novels will begin airing in Japan. It is scheduled for 13 episodes and features the exact cast of the light novel series.
