Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 is the sequel to Dynasty Warriors Gundam. In a recent developer interview, a member of the staff was quoted as saying "the number of mobile suits (Playable) is... something like three times that of the first game", making the total around 40 playable Mobile Suits. They also confirmed there will be no Mobile Suits from Gundam 00 in the game, however, all Suits from the previous game will be returning (this includes the Gundam Musou Special exclusive, Musha Gundam Mk-II, as seen from the recent PV).

This game will feature a number of improvements over the previous game, such as increasing the normal attack string to 6, the SP attack will now change depending if you are on ground on in mid-air (In Nu Gundam's example, its ground SP is the Fin Funnel, while the air SP is Hyper Bazooka rapid firing), the inclusion of massive Mobile Armors as bosses with area damage and greatly improved enemy AI. The game will also include a Online Versus mode. Mobile Armor bosses will have areas that if hit will do more damage compared, and allow the player to destroy sections of armor plate to show how much damage has been done.

The Japanese PS3 and 360 versions will get exclusive DLC, were as the North American and PAL regions will get a "Enhanced" Versus mode instead.
