Wells State Park 1,400-acre (5.7 km2) is a woodland park and campground in Sturbridge, Massachusetts a short distance off the Massachusetts Turnpike. Wells State Park was opened on Jluy 19, 1968. Carpenters rock was named after John Carpenter, who created a Saw Mill on Mill Pond Trail.

The campground has 60 sites. Walker Pond provides a peaceful setting for fishing, canoeing, and swimming. The swimming beach is for campers' use only. During the summer, Wells State Park has an interpretive program available which provides guided walks, hikes, recreational activities and evening campfire programs.

More than 10 miles (16 km) of trails cross the property; off-road vehicles may not be used. A popular route leads to the scenic vista at Carpenter Rocks from which the eastern section and Walker Pond can be viewed. Wells is five miles (8 km) by car from Old Sturbridge Village, a nationally-renowned living museum of New England village around 1800.
