The lenoks or Asiatic trouts are a genus, Brachymystax, of salmonid fishes. It contains three species living in Mongolia, Siberia, the far East of Russia, and Northern Korea.[2][3] Populations of blunt-nosed Lenoks are generally found in different areas than populations of sharp-nosed Lenoks.[4]

Lenoks in Korea are now on the verge of extinction due to deforesting.[5]

Habitat

Lenoks tend to live upstream of rivers, where the water is colder.[6]

History

During the glacial epoch, Lenoks were landlocked inland of the Korean peninsula.[7]
