Supporters

Bora Template:Appears in:DB, DBZ

The powerful Indian who lives at the base of Karin Tower with his son Upa. Bora is just like his name sounds. He's muscular, tall and a man of few words. He fends off Colonel Yellow's men by himself, but he's later speared by T'ao Pai-pai and killed. When Shenlong is summoned next, Son Gokū's wish is that Bora be brought back to life. Bora is seen with his son in the last couple episodes of DBZ when he gives energy to Gokū for his Genki Dama. Bora is an example of the noble savage.

Bulma Template:Appears in:DB, DBZ, DBGT

A brilliant inventor and the mother of Vegeta's children, Trunks and Bra. Bulma started Son Gokū on the original quest for the DBs and is the ex-girlfriend of Yamcha.

Bulma's Mother Template:Appears in:DB, DBZ

She is Bulma's mother and the wife of Dr. Brief. A certified ditz, she is always interested in flirting with Son Gokū and Vegeta. In the anime, she makes a suggestive comment that she would like to go on a date with Vegeta. Not much is known about her, but in the anime she's characterised as the stereotypical blonde air-head who loves shopping and eating expensive cakes. Probably the most disturbing feature of this woman is the fact that, as far as physical appearances go, she looks at least as young as her daughter, and unlike Bulma, she doesn’t appear to age at all throughout DBZ. Her first name is unknown, but according to most people her name is Bunny. Friendly and talkative, Mrs. Brief is seen mostly at home. She loves to have company and entertain guests. And she only opens her eyes once in the entire series. Mrs. Brief isn't much of a character, but she's a painfully good-natured woman, always ready to serve guests tea and cakes. She seems to be unaware of the danger that is usually happening. During the Majin Buu Saga, she and her husband are targeted at Capsule Corp. by Buu after someone informs Babidi where Trunks lives. This is the first and only time Trunks refers to her as "grandma" in the series.

Chi-Chi Template:Appears in:DB, DBZ, DBGT

Dr. Brief Template:Appears in:DB, DBZ

The father of Bulma, Dr. Brief is a grey-haired, brilliant scientist and one of the smartest men in the world. Dr. Brief is the founder of Capsule Corporation and the man responsible for the invention of the Hoi-Poi Capsules, which can shrink inanimate objects down to pocket sized capsule of namesake. Dr. Brief rarely leaves his home, and he can often be found tinkering on a number of complicated gadgets while surrounded by his beloved pets. He and Bulma fixed Jinzō'ningen #16 during the Cell Saga, showing off their technical know-how. Usually Dr. Brief is seen with a cat on his shoulder and a cigarette in his mouth (unless it has been edited out). As Bulma's father, it is his knack for hi-tech wizardry that has been passed on to her.

Grandpa Son Gohan Template:Appears in:DB

File:Grandpa Gohan with Son Goku.jpg
Grandpa Son Gohan with a baby Son Gokū

(FUNimation's dub: Grandfather Gohan)

The adoptive father of Son Gokū who found him in a space ship when Gokū was a baby. Grandpa Son Gohan was taught martial arts by the Kame-Sen'nin, Muten-Rōshi and passed on his knowledge to Gokū. According to a flashback Gokū had when he saw Vegeta transform, Gohan warns him to never look at a full moon and to stay indoors on nights of one - implying that he had already transformed before and Gohan managed to survive the first time. He followed his advice for sometime until one night (as Gokū himself explained to Bulma, Yamcha, Pu'er and Oolong while they were held in prison at Pilaf's castle) when Gokū stepped outside to relieve himself; he then glanced at it, transformed and killed Gohan by stomping on him. After seeing Vegeta transform into an Ōzaru in the Saiyan Saga, Gokū relizes the truth of what happened to Gohan (the dub version mistranslates this scene and Gokū believes Vegeta killed his Grandfather, but the FUNimation redub corrects this mistake). From that time on, Gokū believed that Gohan's soul was in the Si Xing Qiu (Sūshinchū / Four-Star Ball).

In Dragon Ball, Gohan comes back from Heaven to fight Gokū as Uranai Baba'a last fighter.

Gyū-Maō Template:Appears in:DB, DBZ, DBGT

Marron Template:Appears in:DBZ, DBGT

Mr. Satan Template:Appears in:DBZ, DBGT

(FUNimation's edited dub: Hercule)

Sno Template:Appears in:DB, DBZ

(FUNimation's dub: Suno)

A little 9 year old girl that lives in Jingle Village. She rescues Son Gokū from the freezing weather which he isn't accustomed to when his plane crashes in the cold northern region. After Gokū's adventure at muscle tower, she appears later on when Piccolo Daimaō destroys a town's celebrations and she was to give the King there some flowers. She reappears later on in DBZ when Gokū asks for energy. In DBGT, she makes her final appearance on the episode Piccolo dies in as well as her companion Jinzō'ningen #8 (8-chan / Hat-chan).

Upa Template:Appears in:DB, DBZ

The little Indian who accompanies Son Gokū for a short time in order to recover all of the DBs so he can wish his father, Bora, back to life. Upa a member of the Indian tribe who serve as the gaurdians of Karin Tower. His father is the chief, however, the rest of the tribe is not seen until the end of the manga. He participates in the fight against Uranai Baba's thugs and manages to defeat the Vampire with garlic breath. At the end of the DBZ anime, he is shown giving energy to Gokū's Genki Dama.

A cruel ringmaster who ceaselessly whips the baby Teradyne and forced him to perform for on-lookers. When Teradyne's mom and dad came looking for their baby it looked like a lot of trouble until Great Saiyaman stepped in to save the day. But since taking dinosaurs out of the wild isn't illegal, there wass nothing Saiyaman could do. But, the Circus Boss stole a policeman's gun and tried to shoot Saiyaman. The gun had no effect on Saiyaman, but taking a gun from a police officer is illegal.

Bongo Template:Appears in:DB Movie

An officer of King Gurumes' army that uses heavy weaponry to get the job done. He tries to keep Son Gokū from coming into the King's Palace, but he is easily taken down. While inside the palace, he is stepped on and flattened by King Gurumes.

Pasta Template:Appears in:DB Movie

(FUNimation's dub: Raven)

One of King Gurumes's officers that collects the DBs for him. Once she finds Son Gokū's DB, they only have one more to go. She is a very greedy lady that just wants to get her hands on some Rich Stones. She is never seen again, after the Rich Stones go away. She looks very similar to Lunch.

Jaga Bada Template:Appears in:DB Movie

A "villain" from DBZ the Movie #11, Super-Warrior Defeat!! I'm the One who'll Win, who wants revenge on his old class-mate Mr. Satan for beating him in martial arts when he was a kid. Tsuru-Sen'nin Template:Appears in:DB

The Tsuru-Sen'nin, brother to T'ao Pai-pai, and master to Tenshinhan and Chiao-tzu. In the FUNimation dub, he is given the additional name of Master Shen. In an early 1980's dub, he is known as Lord Wu Zu.

He was once friends with Muten-Rōshi, however when they were defeated by the forces of the Piccolo Daimaō and their mentor died after sealing him away, bitterness began to grow in his heart and he turned away from his old teachings and began a school where his hatred of the world began to spread to his pupils.

In the 22nd Tenka-ichi Budōkai, he entered his two star pupils, Tenshinhan and Chiao-tzu to counter Muten Rōshi's pupils, Son Gokū, Kuririn, and Yamcha.

After Tenshinhan and Chiao-tzu left him, he rebuilt his near-dead brother (who was injured by Gokū in combat), and had him enter into the 23rd Tenka-ichi Budōkai to get revenge on both Tenshinhan and Gokū. Tenshinhan, however, easily defeats T'ao Pai-pai and threatens Tsuru-Sen'nin if he ever bothers him again.

King Gurumes Template:Appears in:DB Movie

The unwilling villain from DB the Movie #1, The Legend of Shenlong. He is a normal person who became corrupt when he discovered the Rich Stones that made him have a ceasless hunger.

Red Ribbon Army Characters

Captain Violet Template:Appears in:DB

The only female high ranking officer in the Red Ribbon Army. She's only seen briefly, and simply gives Commander Red the Wu Xing Qiu (Ūshinchū / Five-Star Ball) which her team located. Apparently one of the few officers who survived Son Gokū's crusade on the Red Ribbon Army. The anime expands on her character a bit as being very caring to animals and not having much respect for the RR army as she quickly abandons it when Gokū attacks. Also seems to be a little greedy as Violet stole as much money as she could before escaping.

Commander Red Template:Appears in:DB

The leader of the infamous Red Ribbon Army. He is of switz nationality. He wishes to have the DBs to grant his greatest wish, and thousands upon thousands of men join his army when they produce images of world power and the such, however, in the last episodes of the Red Ribbon Saga, Red reveals to his servant, Ajutant Black, that he was going to wish to be taller, (the guy's a midget). Black is stunned by the news and shoots Red in the forehead out of contempt.

Weirdly enough, Commander Red and Ajutant Black look-a-likes appeared in an episode of the Great Saiyaman arc as movie directors.

Colonel Silver Template:Appears in:DB

The first member of the Red Ribbon Army that Son Gokū encounters and battles. By normal means he's a good fighter, but Gokū takes him out in no time. He isn't killed by Gokū though, only KO'ed. Last heard of him in the manga was him reporting to Red he failed and Red declaring him a dead man. In the anime, hes discharged for his failure and walks out on the RR. One of the few who does so and lives.

Dr. Frappe Template:Appears in:DB

(FUNimation's dub: Flappe)

The great inventor Dr. Frappe resides on the outskirts of Jingle Village. He lives on an isolated mountaintop in order to conduct his scientific experiments undisturbed. Sno, Son Gokū, and 8-chan pay a visit to the Doctor hoping that his expertise will help 8-chan. Dr. Frappe greets his visitors warmly, but his hospitality may conceal darker intentions. Dr. Frappe is a non-canonical character who only appears in the anime. He was an attempt of Toei Animation to explain the creation of he jinzō'ningen that appear in early DB, since Akira Toriyama had not yet concieved the character Dr. Gero until after the Freeza Saga. For those who may still include him in the plotline, it can easily be presumed that Frappe originally worked with Gero as one of his employees in the building of 8-chan.

General Blue Template:Appears in:DB

The leader of the Blue Corps., General Blue is the strongest officer in the Red Ribbon Army. He also has powerful psychic abilities. He is of German origin and nationality. Also, he is homosexual. He trails Son Gokū and company into the pirate's cave, and almost kills Kuririn and Gokū. Luckily for them, he's deathly afraid of mice, and loses his concentration when he is startled by one. Gokū knocks him out afterwords. He somehow survives the collapse of the pirate's lair, and trails our heroes to the Kame House, where he is successful in stealing the dragon radar and DBs. Gokū catches up with him in Penguin Village, and Arale-chan helps him defeat the General. Although successful in stealing the radar, he fails to get Gokū's DBs, which ultimately costs him his life. Commander Red gives him a chance to redeem himself by fighting T'ao Pai-pai, the merciless assassin. T'ao Pai-pai easily kills Blue, using nothing but his tongue.

General White Template:Appears in:DB

In charge of Muscle Tower, he commands 8-chan, Sergeant Matallic, Musaraki, and Buyon. White is of Russian nationality. He had a DB that Son Gokū wanted, and, he also hurt many people in the village outside of the Tower. Gokū didn't like that, so he went to go fight him. After Gokū had defeated every person in the tower, he went after White. White had the mayor held captive and threatened to kill the mayor if need be. Gokū didn't move one bit, but he was the one that got shot anyway. After Gokū fell, White tried to fire again, but 8-chan blocked it. 8-chan went into a rage and charged White. He then blew White out of the tower, sending him to a snowy grave.

Husky Template:Appears in:DB

(FUNimation's dub: Hasky)

Husky is a master thief who is occasionally employed by the Red Ribbon Army. She has made a career out of doing the impossible. After she accepts a job, her abilities are such that not even the tightest security can stop her from making off with her prize. Once more, she has accepted a lucrative, lofty assignment from Commander Red: steal the DBs and get rid of Son Gokū! She only appears in the anime.

Lieutenant Captain DarkTemplate:Appears in:DB

The overweight Lieutenant Dark under General Blue's command. He carries a whip and is almost as strict and militant as General Blue in all fields, except for his diet. The company assumes that Muten Rōshi is the creator of the Dragon Radar. Dark is sent to retrieve information from Muten Rōshi along with his company, but he meets an unfortunate end when Muten Rōshi proves to be more than he can handle. Muten Rōshi takes out his entire squadron when they confront him on his small island. When the message of their defeat is relayed, General Blue is surprised to hear that the whole company was wiped out.

Ninja Murasaki Template:Appears in:DB

The deadly ninja of a thousand techniques who works under the command of General White in Muscle Tower. Murasaki is of Japanese origin. Son Gokū's fight with Murasaki is classic. It mixes classic ninja techniques, with Gokū's kooky style of repelling them, (such as pouring boiling water down a reed Murasaki uses to breathe with under-water). Murasaki is simply punched out by Gokū in the manga, but in the anime, he gets blown up by the bomb from 8-chan's body. His extended full name is Sergeant Major Ninja Purple Murasaki.

Ajutant Black Template:Appears in:DB

(FUNimation's dub: Staff Officer Black) Ajutant Black is Commander Red's servant. He is of African American origin. He obeys just about everything he's told to do, until he finds out Red's true ambition, at which point he shoots Red and takes over the Red Ribbon Army. He finds himself in a battle against Son Gokū in the RR's top secret weapon, the Battle Jacket. Gokū kills Black by propelling himself straight through the robotic armor, causing it to explode.

T'ao Pai-pai Template:Appears in:DB, DBZ

File:Tao Pai Pai photo.jpg
T'ao Pai-pai

T'ao Pai-pai (桃白白, Japanese katakana: Tao Pai Pai; Chinese Pinyin: Táo Báibái) is Tsuru-Sen'nin's younger brother and a highly skilled assassin-for-hire. T'ao Pai-pai is responsible for the death of General Blue, whom he kills with only his tongue. He is sent by the Red Ribbon Army to kill Son Gokū and retrieve the DBs, but Goku defeats him, seemingly killing T'ao Pai-pai with his own grenade.

File:Cyborg Tao Pai Pai.jpg
Cyborg T'ao Pai-pai

However, T'ao Pai-pai is rebuilt as a cyborg by his older brother, and competes in the 23rd Tenka-ichi Budōkai, brutally defeating Chiao-tzu. He is beaten by Tenshinhan in the next fight.

In the anime, T'ao Pai-pai makes a later appearance in DBZ during the Cell Saga as a henchman for a rich gangster who has hired him to gather the DBs so he may wish for immortality to protect himself from Cell. Gokū shows up to gather the two T'ao Pai-pai has collected, but Gokū is disappointed at himself for having nothing to offer T'ao Pai-pai in return. T'ao Pai-pai then poses a challenge to Gokū: If Goku can disassemble three complex puzzle rings by dawn the following day, then he will be awarded the DBs. If he cannot, however, Gokū must surrender the ones he has with him. T'ao Pai-pai then offers to take Gokū's shirt (which contained Gokū's gathered DBs) while Gokū works on the puzzles, and while Gokū was distracted with the puzzle rings, T'ao Pai-pai steals Gokū's DBs and drove far away throughout the night with the gangsters. After Gokū solves the puzzle rings, he simple uses his "Instant Movement" to find T'ao Pai-pai and the gangsters. The naive Gokū was unaware there was any ill-will on the part of T'ao Pai-pai, and is given the DBs without any resistance.

T'ao Pai-pai has been known by a number of names in the various English versions of the series. He is called "General Tao Pei" in the abortive late-1980's Dragon Ball anime dub by Harmony Gold, "Taopaipai" (all one word) in the Viz adaptation of the manga, "General Tao" in the FUNimation dub of Dragon Ball Z, and "Mercenary Tao" in FUNimation's later dub of the Dragon Ball anime.

File:Marondbz.jpg
Maron

Maron first appears in the Garlic Jr. arc as Kuririn's girlfriend. She is very ditsy (always calling Kuririn "Kurin"), uncommitted, and out-spoken, referring to Chi-Chi and Bulma as old ladies which frustrated and angered them. She looks similar to Bulma and many people confuse the two, but both have very different traits, most notably Maron's figure being slightly curvier and Bulma being a staple character to the series, as opposed to Maron only being around for one arc and making a single appearance in the Cell Saga. As Kuririn is about to dump her on a beach, she leaves with a guy in a red sports car. During the Cell Saga, she shows up at the Kame House looking for Kuririn saying that he was the only guy she ever loved. After a while she gets bored and takes off with her boyfriends to never be seen again. Since she does not appear in the manga, she is considered non canon. Akira Toriyama made Kuririn name his daughter after his old flame.

There was an internet rumor that went around speculating that Pizza was Videl's mother. However, it is never stated in the anime. There is no confirmation of this rumor, but it is most likely that she is not, because neither Pizza, nor any other disciples of Mr. Satan appear in the original manga, they only show up as filler characters for the anime.

Romu Template:Appears in:DBZ
