The West Mamprusi District is one of the twenty (20) districts in the Northern Region of north Ghana.[1] Before the creation of the 20 districts, in 1988, West Mamprusu District was part of the 48 districts that were created under the government of Ghana's decentralization and local government reform policy.[2] Walewale and Wulugu are important settlements found in this District, the former being its capital.
