Amalia Abad Casasempere
Amalia Abad Casasempere (Alcoy, 11 December 1897 - ibíd. 21 September 1936) was a Catholic martyr, killed during the Spanish Civil War. She was a widow and mother of two daughters, still very active in the church service , reaching two sisters hiding in his house during the period of persecution.[1][2] She was therefore executed by rifle, by the militants. For her actions she was beatified by the saint pope John Paul II on 11 March 2001[3] jointly with 232 other martyrs of the Civil War.[2]
