Anti - Global Warming propaganda controversy

In August 2006 the Wall Street Journal uncovered that a short video clip posted on YouTube mocking Al Gore and his film An Inconvenient Truth came from the computers of the DCI Group. The video, titled "Al Gore's Penguin Army", was created to look like the work of an amateur without stating who was behind it making this an example of Astroturfing, wherein a formal public relations project deliberately seek to give the impression of spontaneous, grassroots behavior in order to mislead the public. The video came with a fake bio claining the creator was a 29-year-old living in his mother's basement in Beverly Hills, but the IP address of the video showed it was uploaded by DCI. The Wall Street Journal made the connection between DCI and ExxonMobil, finding it likely that ExxonMobil had paid for the deception. See ExxonMobil YouTube video scandal.

The DCI Group has refused to comment on the allegation.
