Joana Preiss (born 22 May, 1972) is a French actress, director, singer, and performer.

Biography

Actress, artist, filmmaker and musician, Joana Preiss has starred in the films of Christophe Honoré, Olivier Assayas, Nobuhiro Suwa and Pia Marais among others, and has collaborated with visual and sound works by Nan Goldin, who was the first to photograph her when she was still unknown, and also with the works of Ugo Rondinone, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster and Céleste Boursier-Mougenot. On stage she has performed for ten years in the performances of Pascal Rambert then with Eleanor Weber.[1]

Trained in classical singing and contemporary music, she performs regularly in the form of concerts and performances focusing on improvisation and using her voice as an instrument. She founded the duo White Tahina with Vincent Epplay and the duo Hiroyuki with Frédéric Danos, in which she sings poems by Hölderlin.

In 2011 she directed her first movie Sibérie.[2]
