Yolande Zauberman

Yolande Zauberman (* in Paris ) is a French director and screenwriter .

The daughter of Polish immigrants studied art history and economics . In 1987 she made her first documentary, Classified People , with which she won awards at several festivals and was nominated for a César for Best Documentary Short Film. Her second documentary, Caste criminelle (1989), was shown at the Cannes Film Festival in 1990 .

For her first feature film Moi Ivan, toi Abraham , Zauberman was awarded the Youth Prize in Cannes (together with The Scent of Green Papaya ) in 1993 and the Golden St. George at the Moscow Film Festival .
