Matt Hollywood
Matt Hollywood is an American indie rock guitarist and singer. He is the founding member of the Portland-based band, The Out Crowd and was, for a time, a bass guitar player in The Brian Jonestown Massacre. He also appears on the 2004 documentary DiG! with The Brian Jonestown Massacre, including footage of the onstage altercation that led him leaving the band. He composed and sang several of the Brian Jonestown Massacre's songs, notably "Oh Lord", "Maybe Tomorrow" and "Not if You Were the Last Dandy on Earth"; the latter of which is famous not only for parodying The Dandy Warhols' single Not if You Were the Last Junkie on Earth, but also for fooling the media of a supposed feud between the aforementioned Warhols and the Brian Jonestown Massacre. Hollywood has said of the song: "It always amazed me how this song got taken as evidence that Anton (Newcombe) was 'stalking' the Dandys - since he didn't even write it." The song was featured in the Jim Jarmusch film Broken Flowers.
On August 29, 2006 Matt was married to Lovely Kate by Rev. Dand Lee Strickland. The couple currently resides in Portland, Oregon.
