Ana Maria Rangel (Rio de Janeiro, May 21, 1957) is a Brazilian politician, is the presidential candidate in 2006 for Progressive Republican Party).

Ana Maria Rangel had a campaign with some controversies in the 2006 elections. The TSE had approved her candidacy only in the final stages of the process. Problems arose when she denounced the president of the PRP. In retaliation, the president of the PRP tried to nullify her candidacy. Ana Maria Rangel's campaign was put on hold throughout the various hearings held by the TSE.

She ended up in fifth place in the elections, losing only for the candidates of the PT, PSDB, P-SOL and PDT, which made use of much more time in the electoral schedule. Even these results have been controversial as reliable polls (IBOP) had projected her to have nearly 20 times more votes than she actually received, which would have placed her in 4th place.

Moreover, Ana Maria Rangel was the first female candidate to run for Presidency of Brazil, with a female vice. She had no political background other than completing a major in political science. Having lived in the United States for several years prior to her candidacy, Ana Maria was a business owner in Atlanta, GA.
