Paula Vesala
Paula Julia Vesala (born December 10, 1981 in Kärsämäki, Finland) is the singer of the Finnish pop rock band PMMP.
PMMP have released three studio albums and have had many hits in their home country. Vesala is, next to Mira Luoti, one of the two singers in the band. She is also the main writer of the songs. Vesala is being educated at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, where she follows the subjects classical singing, piano and violin.
Paula recently teamed up with Green Peace on their Toxic Tour in 2006 when they visited Finland, their final stop of the tour. She let them take a blood sample from her and test the blood to see which chemicals were in her blood stream. They found an alarming number of dangerous chemicals in her blood, and she - together with Green Peace - confronted the large Finnish chemical company, Finnplast at their headquarters in Porvoo, Finland. She gave them a sample of her blood in their campaign to "return the problem to the sender" - i.e. to combat the chemical companies which include dangerous substances in their products, which ultimately get absorbed into the bloodstream.
She has a son, born 13th April 2008, with Rasmus frontman Lauri Yloren.
