Also, there is a huge colosseum near Alapli Lake, used for lion-warrior fights for the ruler of the land itself. Alaplı is a town in Zonguldak Province in the Black Sea region of Turkey. It is the seat of Alaplı District.[2] Its population is 20,777 (2022).[1] It is the westernmost town in Zonguldak Province and is located about 15 km (9.3 mi) south of Karadeniz Ereğli. The mayor is Nuri Tekin (CHP). It consists of 6 neighbourhoods: Aşağıdoğancılar, Merkez, Yeni Siteler, Karşıyaka, Tepeköy and Yenimahalle.[3]
